Ford & GM sales losing grip
ORIGINAL: BadStratRT
Ford never owned dodge...
when Ford built their first truck, they hired the dodge brothers to come in and design the build...they then realized that they could make more money on their own,..so they left..
the company that Henry ford originally helped to form (which he later left) became cadillac

Some of you guys think this is good news. Actually its really bad. They are not losing ground to dcx, they are losing ground to the imports. Which is going to cost thousands of American jobs. Who lent Chrysler a hand in the late 70's and early 80's? GM and Ford. They collaborated to design the k-car. Ford also designed the first gen dakota. Ever notice how much it looked like a ranger?Like I said before, this is not good news at all.

Apparently Chase you are not familiar with the old phrase "if one of the big three goes down the other two will follow shortly." Why do you think GM and Ford helped us out? To be good neighbors? No they realized the massive economic impact that losing hundreds of thousands of jobs would entail. Not just from the auto company, but suppliers and dealers as well. If GM closed its doors tomorrow the US economy would tank. So be careful what you wish for.

Actually a lot of it is their fault ......why would i wanna pay 45000-75000 dollars for a truck that will depreciate. HAve u seen what those new lincoln trucks cost? 65000 dollars!!!??? gimme a break, that 28000 dollar full equipped Ridgeline is looking very good about now. At least chrysler sells em cheap and contain a lot of what people want. How much has GM Spent on marketing alone this year in an effort to bring GM back up in sales that were low to begin w/. Not to mention how much they have spent on redesigning and reshaping an entirely new product line. Ford just made every vehicle in my opinion UGLY. W/ the exception of the new mustang cuz i have to admit they do look beautiful. The 500s make me wanna hurl hey lets make a numbered car like the 300 and similar make it a F>O>R>D acronym for FLipped over rebuilt doge. LOL but really they are ditching all the things that make people wanna buy cars. Attractive, fun, sporty, luxurious, CHEAP, and Durability, I dont know about you all but id rather spend 20-30000 on a car since in truth most people only make 20-30000 a year. I may make over that but what would a smart person do w/ the extra income? Invest in something that will appreciate. ILL buy used cars, run em til the wheels fall off, hope to retire w/ a vested company, and then buy super glammed cars w/ their hefty price tags. Either that or marry into a millionaire family have accidental death policy and push em down the stairs....
no not really tho.
