ill believe it when i see it on the road...ford has "going to bring out a new lightning" forever...and why would they pretend to end the SVT group?


also, the new cobra isnt officially an "svt project"...theyre only using the old svt engine from the GT

 

Well Ford is bringing out a new Lightning per say, it's called the Saleen S331, offered in a naturally aspirated 5.4 with 325hp and 400tq, or the supercharged version at 450hp 500tq. Supposed to hit dealers this summer I think.

 

SVT is no more, I heard that Ford dropped them. So, how could they come out with a new model?

Steve Saleen is an independant aftermarket tuner that works >with< Ford, not >for< Ford. He specializes in Ford products but also builds an amazing supercar, the S7.

Just to clear that up.

 

Where would Saleen be without Ford? He is on the payroll in Dearborn by the way.
