The thing everyone is overlooking is Dodge had to drop a V10 in a truck to compete with a supercharged 400hp Ford and a 6.0L V8 Monaro Ute pickup.......

I think I would rather have the "viper" motor in my truck then the 5.4 supercharged one. But to be cheap about it I would take the lightning and mod the **** out of it. Just because the srt-10 would cost more for everything. If I wanted to race it that is.

You still have to remember the Holden is a 2 seater with a 6 lt V8 in it so there is every reason for it to be so Quick. If Dodge made a 2 seater ute from the LX platform with the 6.1, then i'm sure the Dodge ute will be Quicker

You still have to remember the Holden is a 2 seater with a 6 lt V8 in it so there is every reason for it to be so Quick. If Dodge made a 2 seater ute from the LX platform with the 6.1, then i'm sure the Dodge ute will be Quicker

And if Dodge did that, GM would just drop their 7.0 from the Z06 in the Holden, and destroy any record Chrysler could even think about setting. That 7.0 destroys Vipers (not just SRT Rams) in STOCK form. it also seriously makes me wonder why anyone would consider buying a Viper when you can get a Vette with a better motor in it for 20,000 less and use that 20,000 to make a truly untouchable car out of it [&:] or buy another car so you didn't have to drive your fire-breathing vette everywhere. [8D]

The SRT-10 is also a two seater...with 2 extra cylinders/litres (2.3 actually) of displacement to make up for the weight difference

Granted, the rarity of the Viper, the history of the Viper make it a very inviting and appealing car....but if I want rarity...I buy a Ferrari/Lamborghini...not a Viper......

The Maloo has been in production since 1990 and is just a varient of the Commodore sedan. The VE Maloo coming out next year will probably be faster, supposed to have the 7 litre LS7.
