For everyone talking about these "production" hot rod trucks... has anyone considered second owner low mileage hemi regular cab truck + twin-screw/centri supercharger (for around ~20k)? I could mod one of these till my hearts content, building a <13 sec truck and not spend 50k.

Personally, I would NEVER pay the absurd sums of money they're asking for these production hot rods. My buddy has been considering one of the new Shelby 500 mustangs. They're asking 10k over sticker for them! I'll take a Saleen SC281 anyday over one of those...

What a crock of crap! The truck is not even made by Chevy...... Thats like having a Dakota redone by Peterbuilt (a one off design) and claiming it to have the highest towing capacity. Its all just a scam, and an overpriced GTOcamino.

 

All I'll say is that........I hate GM period. MoPaR

 

Actually, it's built by GM. Holden is owned by GM...same as Chevy. And a one off design wouldn't qualify for a record. It has to be a production vehicle, which both the SRT-10 Ram and Holden are.

 

If i remember correctly wasn't it the Chevy Cyclone that holds the land speed record for production truck. I think it still stands at 210 mph.

 

The GMC Syclone was just a turbocharged 4.3L V6 and it only made around 280hp. Not real impressive.
