Default Re VIN

I just purchased a 1967 Coronet from an insurance company. It is a theft recovery. There is no branding, but in their wisdom they re VINed that car. I have heard that you could apply to chrysler with supporting documents and they will issue a new original VIN

Has anyone herebeen through the process or can offer advice?

Thanks

it is hard if not imposable to revin a car. it all depends on the state you live in.

moe7404 is absolutely right. The correct procedure is to take the insurance documentation, along with proof of purchase, to your state motor vehicle registration department. They will determine what needs to be done, not Chrysler.
