I was wondering what is the \"biggest\" cam i can install in a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.2 318 with a stock fuel management system and/or what PCM should i get to use so i can use a programmer to tune it when i change parts as i go along?

 

if you get a custom flash from (socaldakota.com)you can run a large cam but its no good if you dont upgrade roller rockers and new springs on the heads and increase the valve size ,think about this all the cam does is hold the intake valve open longer and then hold the exhaust valve open longer your engine is an air pump the more that goes in (safely)and the more that goes out the more power,but if all you want is a cam and computer stick with one step above stock ,it will be a good hp jump and you wont damage the motor ,,,,one more thing the bigger the cam the more vacuum that is lost so your brakes wont feel as good
