Non-conformist & Nascar Fans?
I have followed NASCAR since about 1973, I work for a NASCAR team (55, 44, 00), I am an outdoorsman and I have owned three dodge trucks. Yea, their correct. Red
Not this cat. I am a hardcore bow hunter but my racing is ALMS and LeManns racing(Endurance racing real production sportscars with limited rules). My truck of choice is a Dodge Ram but my high performance cars are always German.
Well.
I am not a "NASCAR" fan. Not saying I do not watch part of a race once in a while, but do not have to watch every race from lap 1 to the finish.
But I do drive a truck that averages less than 10MPG (I would think this is non-conformist a little)
And I bought the truck from Bobby Hamilton before he passed.
So I guess there is a link

Non-conformist? I'd say yes.
Outdoorsman? Big-time hunter (bow, muzzleloader, rifle, shotgun)
NASCAR fan? Not in a long time. I used to watch stock car racing a lot as a kid in the late Sixties-early Seventies, but NASCAR today is nothing like back in the days of Richard Petty, Buddy Baker and a host of others. Back then they really were basically stock cars built up to race. If I watch any racing today its NHRA or the Indy 500.

I would say that I fall into this catagory, I love NASCAR, I hunt and fish, I detest authority and do my best to undermine any trainmaster I work for. I support Kasey Kahne(my 17 yo daughter says hes pretty) Ryan Newman( mechanical engineer) and Mark Martin (all around good guy). Who cares? the article you read sounds like an attempt to belittle us southern gentlemen(NASCAR has always been predominantly a southern thing). I say to those who wrote the article ; C'mon down here to the swamp and we will go on a gator hunt! It might just change their minds about insulting folks!
