Default Biffle's car catches fire on pit road, but is OK:

The car #16 National Guard Ford of Greg Biffle, last year's Daytona 500 pole-sitter, caught fire on pit road while it was on the line waiting to qualifying on Sunday. Speed Channel's Ralph Sheheen reported that a heater that was warming the oil tank in the car shorted out and caused a fire behind Biffle's seat. Biffle, who is scheduled to qualify sixth, was OK, but the team rolled the car back to the garage to see whether oil lines and the battery were affected by the fire. "It looks like everything is OK. We wanted to make sure it wasn't an oil line," Biffle's crew chief Doug Richert told Speed. "It was concentrated under the oil tank with a lot of insulation. I don't think we'll jeopardize anything." Biffle led the most laps in the season-opening Budweiser Shootout before finishing fifth. He was 10th- and 15th-fastest in Saturday's pre-qualifying practices.

Richert was interviewed by Steve Byrnes, he said the team has been excused from it's scheduled 6th place in the qualifying order and NASCAR will have them go thru the templates before going back on the grid.
