Default GTP gets taken up top

The other night, I had my mom's 2004 Crossfire (i wish it were the srt-6) and my friend had been wanting to race me for the longest time. He has a 2002 GTP. Well, it was raining out so I didn't want to go from a dig, so we went from 30, 50, and 60 mph rolls. The Crossfire (built for top end) took the GTP everytime. Of course, his GTP has the L67 engine which produces alot of torque, therefore it took me about 20mph each race before i could catch him, but after i caught him, it walked him up top and got worse and worse til we let off.

He still wants to go from a dig.....which I'm afraid he'll beat me there. The crossfire just doesn't feel like it has much from a start. Oh well, we will see and i'll post it later. Any advice on running it from a stop would be appreciated.

As the proud owner of a crossfire, nice kill, and it is a good thing that you went from a roll on the wet surface. Starting from a dead stop i think is a little harder with the crossfire. Mainly cause of the short first gear and the clutch that the crossfire has. When I race at lights I usually try to start from a real slow roll, then floor it, seems like the tires grip a lot quicker, when starting from a stop it seems like they want to squeal longer, and it almost feels slower. And don't forget to turn traction control off. otherwise you'll get killed when you go to shift or launch. And as far as rpms i find that right around 2200-2500 works best (imo). hopes this help, by the way is it auto or stick? can't wait to hear the outcome
