Default rx-7 kill

There is a guy that lives in my area that drives a turbo rx-7 that i always see around town and have been wanting to race and today i finally got the chance. He wouldnt tell me what he had done to it but he was so confident that he would beat me he told me to save my gas but i still went. I definetly kno he had and CAI exhuast and blow off valve other then that i dont know. We started at at red light and to my surprise i got him by half a car length off the line by second i had a full car length third gear car lenth and a half then he let off. All i have done is a K&N ram air intake and mopar blow off valve so needless to say i was happy i got him cause i thought turbo rx-7's were fast. Just though id share my first quality kill with you all

What are they, like 69 CI rotary engines? Nice kill though.

i mean, i have seen some that are INCREDIBLY FAST...but i had a roomie in college,..and he was obsessed with RX7s...he swore that as soon as he graduated he would have one...he bought a gorgeous stock NA 3rd gen..and hated it..it was unpowered and slow...he cleaned it up even more, and sold it, and bought a slightly wrecked 3rd gen, heavily built...it ran mid 12s on the bottle, but the kit was removed and he didnt want to run it anyway..supposedly ran low 13s/highs 12s without the bottle..but the list of mods was long...he cleaned it up, and it looked nice..and was quick...i should get in touch with him.

man they rev high and can be fast, but that 1.3l engine just doesn't push any torque. I wonder why...

I love 'em though

What year was the RX-7? The 3rd gens are nice turbocharged, but the older ones aren't.
