Default Shuan Carlson's Pro FWD SRT-4

Just got my Summit Racing Sport Compact Catalog and there is an interesting 2 page article in it on Shaun Carlson who is racing a SRT-4 in the Pro FWD division. His car has an all carbon fiber body with the 2.4L SRT-4 engine - factory block, factory head, factory crank and it was built by Darrell *** Racing. Power? How 'bout an estimated 900-950 hp at the wheels at LOW BOOST....[sm=smiley32.gif]

I haven't received a new one yet, I hope they get that one to me soon.[sm=smiley13.gif]If it's the one I'm thinking of, I think it turns 8.60's at 170+ MPH in the 1/4.[sm=smiley3.gif]

Yeah, the article goes on to say they hope to be the first to break into the 7's IF they can find a tranny that holds up...[sm=smiley5.gif]

It depends on the year. I have watched the '03 SRT-4's turning everywhere from a 14.2 to a 13.7 dead stock. The same ones with the Stage 1 upgrade were running in the 13.0-13.2 range. I haven't seen an '04 run yet, they have part of Stage 1 already on them from the factory as well as a limited slip differential which the '03s didn't have.[sm=smiley2.gif]

Yep. The "advertised" times and speeds for the SRT-4 have been consistently higher and slower than the "real world" numbers that people are getting in actual use. Some have suggested Dodge does this for a reson, either to help get lower insurance rates on their vehicles or to lure Ricers to their doom...[sm=smiley36.gif]
