I have a 1973 Dart with a 450-500 HP 440, 3000 Stahl Converter, 727 Reverse Manual, 4:10's. What would be a good RPM to leave the line at, I ran a 12.8 Last year leavin at 3000, but wouldering if I could go more?

With the 3000 stall converter you wont be able to stall higher then 3000rpm or the tires will want to start breaking loose. Although this is also going to depend on how much torque you are making. I would get a stall converter to match your torque. If your torque is 400 lb-ft @ 4,000rpm then I would get a converter that is 3,800 to 4,000. I would do this. You will launch harder. Just my .02.

Late on this one...but as was said, try and match to your torque spec. We're stalling at 6500 RPM, but chip at 4700 and shift at 1.65 seconds to 2.0 seconds depending on conditions and how much we want to screw up the other guy (Powerglide).

3000 pound car, 800+- HP, 2.56 convertor multiplier, 1.76 first gear, 4.88 on the tail. Results are in sig (picture is taken well after the 60' cone)
