My boss is a Chevy fanatic. Right down to his '73 454 'Vette. He bought a 2005 Silverado with a 5.3L in it and he was talking trash about the new HEMI. I said "let's go" and pointed to the HEMI Durango. Yes I knew he had about 1000 lbs on me, but I wanted to try. The road beside the garage we work is (mostly) deserted. We lined up and we went. I took him off the line. He braked the converter, I punched it from an idle. I pulled a half length on him due to his wheelspin ( He had the traction contol on too!) It was pretty much a dead heat with me slowly pulling away until we ran out of road about 110 mph. I noticed I was only in 3rd gear.

Neadless to say he was impressed. He said "Man that HEMI sounds awesome wide open at the top half of the RPM range. Reminded him of his old drag racing days when he used to run a Nova against the HEMIs then. They used to beat him too lol
