Default how fast?

How fast? It took me years to under stand this. Chrysler didnt put just any parts in any engine. Just look at the specs of the race hemi 1964 and the street hemi 1966. they knew the street hemi wasnt as fast as the race hemi. Allso note the chrysler lettered 300s most would the ¼ mile in about 17.- 16. seconds, that was there target E.T., they could make it faster, but it was a gentlemans performance car. NOT a race car. They did that in the 1968 hemi cuda. See what I mean?

Read 3 times and I have no idea what you're trying to state. You mention the obvious and that's about it. What exactly didn't you understand?

the point is i DO understand that chrysler had a target speed for each model and each made the target speed. IE. it was NO mistake that 300s went the speed they wanted.

Ok, I understand and will follow with every dealer does that as well. GM stuck the same engine into the vette, the camaro, the trans am, one generation of the escalade and other than the vette, they heavily restricted the others so that the vette would be "faster".

yep you get it. they know how fast they want a given car to go, and use the right parts to make it. not just by guess and by garish .
