what gives?

RE: what gives?
585whp is definitely possible, given a big enough turbo and a built engine. Here is a thread on SRTForums that someone posted recently:
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173032
But I don't know of anyone that's made those numbers and has a dad w/ a 1000hp Viper...
One of the big differences with the slicks is being able to run more boost in 1st and 2nd gear. With the street tires, I have the boost turned down quite a bit, probably dropping more than 100hp for those 2 gears. On the street tires I was also keeping the boost on my "Street" (non-race-gas) tune... roughly 400whp. The 11.7 runs were with the boost turned up on race gas (~485whp). However, once it cools off, with the slicks, I should be able to hit 11's on the street tune and low 11's on the race gas tune.
I compared a recent 400whp street tire timeslip with one from when I ran a 13.8 stock.
The 60', 330, and 1/8 mile ET's were almost identical, so the car picked up ~6 tenths on the back half of the track:
Stock/Upgraded
60' 2.2 / 2.3
330' 6.0 / 6.1
1/8 8.8 / 8.8
1/4 13.8 / 13.2
With the borrowed slicks I was able to get 1.8 60's. I have some bolt on traction devices I made that will hopefully allow me to get a low 1.7 or possibly 1.6 60' with my new slicks.

RE: what gives?
My car is getting faster now that it's cooling off (that and fixing a crack in my intercooler I recently found[&:]). I was at the track last Saturday and turned a 13.4@119 (well 118.8) w/ a 2.4 60' and a 6.4 330'... now I just need my drag wheels [:@] On the borrowed slicks I ran a 5.0 330'... if I can duplicate that on my slicks, I'll be running high 11's on my street tune (91oct Pump gas).
I was playing around on the street (out where there's nothing but fields & no other traffic) w/ a 750cc 1997 Sport Bike. Twice the sport bike roasted me so bad out of the hole that I had no chance, but I did get one good launch in and caught him and passed him in 3rd and put a car-length or two by 120. On the worst launch, the tires broke loose at about 1/4 throttle in 1st, broke loose @ 1/2 throttle in 2nd, and broke loose @ WOT in 3rd... and didn't hook up at all through 3rd. I roasted the tires all the way up to ~90mph, an 1/8 mile long burn-out. I guess I'm gonna have to turn down the boost for the "winter" here.

RE: what gives?
Probably in the top 20~25 nation wide. According to SRTForums list, I've run the 17th quickest time. But I know there are people with big turbo cars that either aren't on SRTForums or haven't posted their time (or haven't run at a track yet).
There's also a few people I know w/ big turbo projects that will be jumping to the top of the list by winter's end. (There's a couple of T67 turbo SRT-4's on the horizon, ~500whp on pump gas, 600-650 on race) My goal is to get a cage installed, get the car to run low 11's as is, then build the engine next spring, turn up the boost a bit more and a few months later add a 100 shot direct port (w/ a progressive gear-dependent controller) and hit 10's next fall/winter.
Unfortunately, in order to keep it streetable, the car will likely never see a sub 1.7 60' (well maybe a high 1.6...) so it'll have the trap speeds of a car 1/2 sec to a second quicker. My guess is that w/ the DP nitrous it'll hit mid 10's @ 135 to 140.

RE: what gives?
I'm using the Stage I ECU w/ an AGP GT3076 Turbo upgrade. The engine is stock crankshaft to valvecover; the clutch has been upgraded and the axles have been upgraded, otherwise the transmission is stock. Just about everything else (powertrain wise) has been upgraded or modified.
