Default 2 in a day

so today was the first Real nice day weve had. sunny, and no rain, so ther were tons of hot cars out and about.
so i found out i was geting off work early, so i cleaned up the RT, at work, and drove toward home, taking some time to cruise around the main street area. 5 lanes, a light roughly every mile, with a couple nice straight areas, bordered by guardrails on both sides.
the last few days ive seen a girl riding around in a newer honduh civic, red, with a kit and a wing on it. looks like its dropped, and the exhaut off my old lawn mower. well, im going along, and i see her going the other way, and turn into a side lot quick, so i make the next left, turn around, and as i come to a light, she pulls out. we were the first 2 cars at the next light. shes revving the engine, so i turned my stereo up, and gave a few quick kicks of the throttle, and jerked forward a bit, and she did the same..the light turned green, and we both jumped it. i spun a bit, and she surprisingly launched pretty well. i grabed second, as did she, and i began to pull away. by the time i got off it, i was far enough ahead that she had given up, and another car came charging between her, and myself. so next light, that car rolls up. about a mid to late 90s bonney sse. he starts hard on the throttle, trying to make sure id look over, and while i was aware of him revving his engine, al i could really hear was the sever rattle coming from awful speakers. i eased forward, as did he, and of the line,w e both spun, him hard. i began to pull ahead as i went into second, and i hard a cracjking noise, and as i looked up, i could hear him really stretching gears, and then came the loud pop, and smoke billowed out from under the car, and the sides. i stayed into it, and pulled away, and he immeadiately pulled over. smoke still pouring out. so i turned around, and went back...he had drifted it into a gas station, and was kneeling, looking under it, so i stopped, and asked him if everything was ok. now keep in mind, there wa enough smoke that when i stopped, i got out and brought my fire extinguisher with me, only after parking, what i felt, was a safe distance away. as i got closer, he stood up,a nd i asked if everything was ok, and he said, "yeah, it just started elaking oil, im not sure why..its never done it before. hey nice car." i said thanks, and asked him if he was sure evrything was ok, and as i walked back to my car, the girl in the civic comes rolling along, pausing as i got into my car, and motioned for me to follow her, so i did. we went back out onto the 5 lane road, and i followed her around for a bit until we got into the clear, approaching a stop light, and i got next to her, and she said, "id like another shot" i nodded, and smiled, and began easing forward, as did she. this time we launched about even, but as i went for second, i heard her do the same, and fail. she dropped off instantly, and i coudl hear her struggling to find second gear as i rapidly pulled away. of course...about a mile and a half down the road, she came blowing past me and gave me the thumbs up. so i then started to actually head home, and as i got to the last stoplight before my house,. a bright yellow 430 modena (id seen it before, he owns a huge exotic car dealer in the area) pulled up next to me, and was starring at me, so i turned my stereo off, and turned to him, and said, that car is sick. he nodded and replied with "thank you...wanna run?' i said no thank you...

the light turned green...and by the time the cloud of tire smoke had cleared, he was nearly out of site. when he launched, i have to admit, i came off hard also but i hit my limiter because his car was so loud, i couldnt hear my engine, and i was so mezmorized by the car, i didnt watch my tach.

ferraris are awesome.

ferraris are awesome.
But very, very expensive and not in the range of the average American, hard to tune, and prone to break down. And sell your house to pay the insurance. Give me a Dodge SRT-4, or SRT-10, or Hemi Ram anyday...the best value to price ratio around!!

Don't forget that with a fraction of the money that the Modena costs, you could buy and mod an SRT-4 that will eat his Modena for breakfast.[sm=smiley2.gif]

i know this is dodge forum blasphemy, but i drove an SRT4 thursday, and while ive not driven a modena, id have to say, even with the difference in price, if i had my choice, and the cash, id be driving the modena.

my mirada is damn near as fast as a stock viper, but i would never compare my car to a viper...

its just a matter of..well...that guy can say he owns a ferrari, and its a matter of clout.
while the SRT is much faster than my RT...its just no ferrari.

Apples & oranges. I think it might be more enjoyabe to say I have a Dodge SRT-4 that ran a Ferrari Modena into the dirt[sm=smiley4.gif], but I understand what your saying, I would love to be able to say that I have a Viper GTS.[sm=smiley13.gif]
