Default New times!

Well, I went to the track again tonight. I got 20 runs in. I started out the night with a 16.9, and kept workin on my launches and shifts, by the end of the night I had it down to a 16.3. My best from the last time was a 16.7, so I cut almost a half second just with practice! I think 16 or 16.1 is all I'm going to be able to get it down to stock. Can't wait to see how it reacts to some mods. It was tons of fun, i beat a sunfire, cavalier, and hole shotted my buddy in his cougar. Haha, he didn't like that so much. Good times!

That's not bad for a stock Neon. Some simple things you can try would be to remove the intake air resonator box in the inner fender and get a high flow air filter. Find a set of rims and go with a lower profile tire in the front.

Yeah, I don't think its bad for being stock. Anyone know what it is supposed to do stock? I was just totally pumped this time because I got to race my buddy's modded cougar about 10 times, and I took him off the line several times. Then he had to run me down at the end. I pulled a 2.2 60ft, on my quick run of the night. I think have the launch formula down for my car.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Your right there with the mid-16's, and those #'s were for an older, lighter 2-dr. model.

The cougar is a 2001, I guess my friend said his clutch was giving him issues. I've seen him run low 15's with it before. But we both agreed that soon he's going to be the one trying to catch me, and not me trying to catch him.[sm=smiley1.gif]

Good job. This just goes to prove that practice makes perfect. I suggest that you get a cold air induction kit, better exhaust with a high flow cat, MSD wires and an upgraded PCM to make use of these upgrades.
