A friend and I just bought new cars. he bought a bright red 2006 Corvette and I got a black Charger SRT-8. So we had to go and play. Being that his is a 6-speed put me at a bit of a disadvantage and that proved to be so. I have a G-Timer, so set that up and got ready to go. Bothe being stock with no upgrades.

As I thought, he got me out of the hole fairly well, but after that we were virtually even. By the time we were finished he beat me by a little less than two car lengths, which is what he put on me at the start. The G-Timer showed 0-60 in 4.60 and the quarter at 13.03/110.6MPH.

My friend was stunned and said it was amazing how quick the Charger was and considering all the room and trunk space, he said he believed it the best performance deal on earth.

I couldn't agree with him more!

 

honestly, if you get it on a track, you may very well find that your SRT8 turns in better times than 13.03...i think that we have a member here who ran something like a 12.90 or so?

either way..i read alot of things about vette and mustang owners amazed at how well the SRt8s move out...

dont forget that altitude plays a big part in your 1/4 mile time...if your at high altitude expect higher than 13.0 and if your lower than sealevel...expect high 12's
