ive never watched nascar but i watched a little bit the other day..not sure what race it was but it was really cool... just like any sport your not interested in...if you go see it in person it all changes...thats how i was with hockey... never watched it (when i was like 10) and my dad took me to a game and ive been hooked ever since.. even played for a few years... id like to go to watkins glen (close to me) and see a race..

i dotn know any of the termanology that has to do with racing so its hard for me to follow..

im watching the 500 tho... looks like a blast

I'm pullin for Mikey Waltrip. Appparently nobody told Mikey that the Dodges dont go on superspeedways! I'd be happy to see Mark Martin win this one, but he has no luck at Daytona or Talladega. Tony Stewart just won the Busch race about an hour ago, so he'll be a threat as usual.Then of course there's Junior, he'll be strong. I'd like to see nobody from Hendrick hace a particularly strong finish.
If your pullin for a Dodge, then it's Mikey, Newman or Kurt Bush, none of the others will finish real well unless Bobby Labonte really put something together over at Pettys.

 

My pick to win is Tony Stewart....but I'm a Dale Jr fan so I hope he wins. Elliot Sadler has a strong car also. It Will be interesting. I just hope NASCAR doesn't get too carried away trying to enforce their new "bumping" rule........

Shott - you will love the 500! Watch them on some of the other tracks also, especially Bristol and Richmond and Talledega. If you have a good dirt track up there, you should go check that out sometime too. I'm sure they run DIRT Modifieds there - those put on a good show and have big block engines with about 700-800 hp. Dirt Super Late Models are my favorite - I don't know if they have them there or not. Check it out - you will be hooked!

 

Jr WILL win. a few will give him a run for his money. but its hard to pick against him at Daytona.

i cant wait till the races here in Charlotte. The best is the All-Star shootout.

 

Waltrip, Newman or Bobby Labonte, gotta root for a Dodge! Yeah, I know, but Mikey and Newman know how to get to the front. They just have to time it right and stay out of trouble till it's time to go. GO DODGE!

 

yea stayin out of trouble is what its all about. you can count on a couple of the contenders (Jr, gordon, johnson, bobby, etc) to be taken out in a wreck.
