318 ram vs. 4-cylinder ranger
i have a friend that has a 89 Ram with a 318 and dual flowmasters, regular cab. and this other kid thinks that he can beat him in his 02 ford ranger with a 4-cylinder his is a standard regular cab and stock. personally i think he is full of crap and i think my dak with a 4.7 could beat them both.

RE: 318 ram vs. 4-cylinder ranger
A 4.7 Dak should walk both of them easily. The 4.7 has as much hp as the 318 mag had but with a broader powerband. The 4.7 Dak was actually quicker than the 5.9 r/t Dak or so I have read. I've ridden in a 5.2 (318) mag full size truck 2wd and shortbed and they are not all that fast. The word mediocre comes to mind. Sorry Ram fans, but it's my opinion, stinky as it may be. I personally have a 1970 Dodge D100 short bed with a 318 non mag out of an 89 5th ave with nothing more than headers, duals, 4bbl out of a 360 and gasket matched ports. Stock compression, cam, etc. and it would run circles around my brother in laws 5.2 mag late model ram. A lot of that has to do with weight. My D100 weighs about 3600 lbs, A new Dak is more than that and a new Ram is even more yet. You can't fight the laws of physics here.
