Default The Newmans are Going to the Dogs!

The Newmans are Going to the Dogs - Biggest Bake Sale Ever: Ryan Newman, driver of the #12 ALLTEL Dodge, along with his wife, Krissie, are turning their Friday away from fast laps and toward homeless animals. The Newmans will host a charity bake sale, drawing and silent auction at Penske Racing South's race shop in Mooresville, North Carolina next Friday to aid two local animal shelters, May 28th. Friends In Need, is a no-kill animal shelter that devotes its time to the well-being of animals that are in need of care. The Humane Society of Catawba County, is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the general welfare of animals. Both organizations run strictly on donations. The Newmans have three dogs: Digger, Harley and Mopar. All three were, at one time, homeless animals that needed love and shelter [same as all four of Jayski's 'Zoo']. The Newmans agree that their pets have become an important part of their life that they would hate to live without. Penske Racing South drivers, Ryan Newman, Rusty Wallace and Brendan Gaughan will each hold a one-hour autograph session at the bake sale and silent auction. One dollar donations for each autograph will be appreciated. See the full PR and more info, including the 'Meet with Michael Waltrip Auction' [which ends today] on my Racing Charities page [dated may 28th].(Penske Racing PR)(5-20-2004)
