A little late on sharing this but last weekend I went to the track to test out some of the new parts I added and got to race an M3. I rarely take my SRT-4 to the track because it is my daily driver but thought, what the hell. This guy had a few friends out there and they were all saying he was going to waste me just as we were about to pull up to the tree. We get up to the line and he starts reving it and it sounded very nice. We both launch. He was about a nose ahead of me on the 60 foot and then my car jumps on him in 2nd and more in 3rd. I concentrated back on the run and here are the results:

Cool. Nice kill. Especially with all their crap talk. I never been to a track, but I would never talk smack, because it can come and bite thee in thee ****. And if someone talk smack to me, I would just be zen. "That's cool". and do my own thing.

 

a few things...

the E36 ran from 1995 to 1999, and the next generation, the E46 M# started in 2001...there was no 2000 M3. i can provide several sources for that...

anyway...did this M3 look like the first picture included, or the second? the first, an E36 M3 is good for low 14s, stock...several sources claim 14.3@98mph...the second picture is an E46, and with 333 hp, they are good for mid to low 13s, stock...

the M's are so refined, that adding a cold air intake and exhaust doesnt do much...especially the intake. so, either this guy had an average running 95-99 M3, or he had the worst running 2001+ M3, ever.

there are ALOT of poser M3s in the world as well..

however, nice work on the 13.91...with a trap speed of 103, you can get that time WAY down...some of my 12.70s runs have a mph around that! [8D]

It must have been a 2001 because it looked just like the 2nd pic except it was dark blue. He said it was a 2000....I don't know much about BMWs but it had the M3 markings and looked exactly like the picture. There were a few people out there with cameras that I know. Maybe someone has a pic or vid.

HAHA, you know when you get to that time, then you will run a few times and feel you need to get faster and want more upgrades. The cycle never ends

 

i once said that if the mirada would get low 14s, id be happy...

anyway...you should be able to find a low 13 with little work, as your mph is excellent...how bad was your 60 foot time?

also, as for the M3, nothing taken away from your run, but that guy needs to give the car to someone who knows how to drive...most of them are in the deep 13s, and would be REAL competition for you..

 

2.286[:'(] I spun quite a bit but once it hooked up I jolted forward. I am at a 2700ft elevation and it was about 75 degrees outside with a little cool breeze blowing. My turbo was loving it. I am not sure about that guy in the M3. He talked a lot of trash so it could have been someone who was a poser and spent 3-4K on making his normal bmw into an M3 (body wise)or he had no idea what he was doing. Honestly I thought he was going to beat me.

 

yeah..once that 60 gets down.perhaps under 2.00, youll be into the low 13s at least
