Both Jeremy Mayfield and Ryan Newman broke the track record... also all three Penske Racing cars qualified in the top-5.

Coming off his win last weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Jimmie Johnson qualified 14th at Dover.


Ryan Newman will share the front row with pole-sitter Jeremy Mayfield. Newman posted his third second-place qualifying effort in a row Friday.


Rookie Scott Riggs will start 23rd in Sunday's race.


Ricky Rudd will start 28th after clocking in at 156.760 mph.


Elliott Sadler qualified sixth Friday -- his second top-10 qualifying effort in a row.


Jimmy Spencer wrecked his primary car in practice. He'll start his back-up machine 41st on Sunday.


Terry Labonte qualified 34th on Friday -- his second consecutive qualifying effort outside the top 30.


Tony Stewart will start 10th on Sunday.


Brian Vickers qualified third Friday -- his third top-five start in a row.


Michael Waltrip's No. 15 Chevrolet is pulled to the garage area after Michael Waltrip crashed during his second qualifying lap.

Not only will Mayfield have a great chance of winning the race Sunday. But it means both Evernham Motorsports cars are going to be in the 2005 Bud Shootout at Daytona!
