From what I've seen, with stg 2 (especially w/toys) you should be a little faster than an STI from a roll. I think they have about 240-260 AWHP, and you should be pushing 250-270- FWHP. On the other hand, from a dig, unless he's just a horrible driver you will get annhialated. Good old AWD.

I'll assume that you mean "Front Wheel HP" and not just Flywheel HP. And yes I would think that a Stage 2 (guessing 310-315ish HP @ flywheel) would be faster than a Stock STI from a roll. Especially since they're about 400 pounds heavier. I'd like to get a Stage 3, but I'll probably stop at Stage 2 w/o toys...and probably won't even get intake or exhaust mods. Just want a cheap and easy HP increase while still looking stock. I don't really street race and I probably won't go to the track, so I don't want to go overboard like I did on my Kenne Bell Mustang.

Congratulations on beating the STI, TFXFalcon

What is "flywheel horsepower"? LOL. I mean, I thought the only REAL horsepower was wheel horsepower anyway. Of course I meant front wheel hp. In fact, the only reason I put FWHP was that I had just typed AWHP, and didn't want to confuse folks. Obviously no matter what I try I'm still confusing. Sorry. Next time I swear I'll just put down WHP (wheel horsepower)

It's tough to say. It's a shame you don't have HOM, but still yet there could be a chance. The STi stg 2 (assuming that is the ONLY mod he's got) is 277.7 HP and 316.3 TQ to all four wheels. Those are pretty tough numbers to beat. The only advantage you've got is weight and I've also noticed that the SRT turbo just seems to pull harder than a Subie's does. I'm not saying that it's true, just what it feels like behind the wheel. I wish you good luck, and if you do happen to spank him, you gotta post and brag about yo win! Let us know!

Interesting. I just raced a STi yesterday myself. I have stage 1 with stage 2 waste gate, mopar intake and exhaust. He said he just had an updated exhaust. Who knows. I had 1 other person in the car (maybe 170 pounds), he was by himself. Traffic only let us get to around 80, but he barely won. My front wheels where right at his back wheels when we both hit the brakes. I was suprised that on take off he got nothing on me. We started from a dead stop, and he didn't pull on me till 3rd gear and then just barely.

Anyway, congrats. And you never know how much people have really done to their cars and what kind of difference that makes. I mean, I also have MSD wires, a catch can with a check valve, NGK plugs, and new BFG's, but how much did that help me?

i raced a wrx the other night, was pretty even from light to light. noticed his car did not start to pull until third gear, and the good dakota was still screaming in second. after the fun we went on the highway from a stand still.i got out of the hole fast and by the time he was in third we were dead even. dakota just kept pulling until i throttled back at 118.0 and he walked away from me.
