RE: mirada VS 69 dart
Even the GT500, which I love even though it is a Ford, is a pony car. Pony cars are small in size and moderate to high in power, but usually moderate. The high power ones are very small in number, fairly rare like the GT500 and Yenko or COPO. I also love the looks of the early 70's 455 Super Duty Trans Am's. The Camaro and Firebird changed, like the Barracuda, and became a little bit bigger kinda crossing over from pony to muscle.
There are very few true muscle cars, pony cars are similar yet very different, but any car can have muscle. I love the Viper more than just about any car ever made and I would love to call it a muscle car, but regardless of it's God-like power, it doesn't have a rear seat and that makes it a sports car/super car/exotic (not sure exactly which). Sports car are generally 2 seaters that have smaller engines with their main focus on handling. Exotics usually mean foreign and super cars are usually mega-dollar with mega-power and mega-big engines with 10 or more cylinders.

Bottom line on this is that it probably isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things, but this kind of goes with some of what has been said on the matter. Seems as though everyone has a definition, and they all vary to some degree.[sm=smiley20.gif]
What's the point anyway? Will it make anyone feel better if their "muscle car" gets handed it's butt by a pony car in the quarter??????? Knowing that they drive a real "muscle car"(according to their definition).

As much as I would love for there to be an end all be all definative list of what exactly is what, that isn't it. The contradicted themselves right off the bat from what I noticed, they list the Coronet as a full-size muscle car where they list the Super Bee (same exact car for the first few years, before it used the Charger body) as an intermediate, but they ALL use the same B-body mid-size frame. Where did they ever come up with a compact muscle car? They classify the Nova as one, but the Nova changed body sizes in the 60's for small to mid-size.[sm=smiley5.gif][sm=smiley29.gif][sm=smiley24.gif]

71RR. Man. I was hoping you would straighten this out. I have to admit that I haven't slept through one night since this thread started.[sm=lol.gif]
Oh well. I guess we will all just have to be happy with whatever MoPar we have and live with the fact that the truely important thing is that we rule the roads.
