Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default Fuel Problem For the New Guy

I am new to this site but have used it before, so now i am in a tough jam and really need some advice. I have an 89 Ramcharger with 360, 2B holley TBI, and 727. Got a fuel issue where the truck turns over great but no start. Has spark from plug grounded to manifold, and just replaced the fuel filter. When i turn the key over i think i can hear a prime, and fuel is not getting into the throttle body. Took the fuel lines off the TBI and tried to start, and no fuel even comes out. Pulling my hair out please help.

Ok, fuel wont come out as your turning it over, they are made that way. Will any fuel come out if you just turn the key to on position? Have you checked your fuel filter? Sometimes the easiest this is the last to be looked at?

replaced fuel filter and it still wont work until i have the girlfriend sit in it and try to start it while i bang the bottom of the fuel tank and then it starts. But it will sputter out and keeps doing this, dont know if it is an electrical problem or if the fuel pump needs to be replaced, leaning towards pump. I am gonna drop the tank, wondering how easy this is, and if there is any way to test anything before i drop the tank?
