Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

OK #1 have someone turn the stearing wheel.. just have them move it very gently.. look for play at all joints....#2 open the hood and inslect the stearing shaft.. then move the st wh again very lightly .. if both are in good shape get someone that can adj the nut and screw on top of the st unit .. if u do it ur self mark the screw and nut w/ a marker... so u can put it back where u started..qp

First I must thank you for answering my query.
Opened the hood and checked steering shaft.
The whole unit turns about one inch off center.
According to print of steering gear, there appears
to be a adjustment on top of unit. Is this the
screw that u are referring to?? I have a bad
back and am too damn old to crawl under
vehicle. Will have to get my nephew to come
down and do adjustment.

Go to this link and read the info...you may just need to rebuild the coupler.

use d o d g e t a l k for the asterics

Do not adjust the adjusting screw until you have looked elsewhere for the problem. Improper adjustment of the screw can lead to steering malfuctions.
