Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Question engine to rebuild

I have an 86' RC with the 360 cid and Rochester 4bbl. right now it's my backup truck (keeps me moving when my daily breaks) I would like to restore it eventually, as a long term project.

As for the engine, I'd like to get a donor from a scrap yard and rebuild it off to the side, so the truck will still run when I need to. I'm pretty set on a 318 340 or 360. (Big blocks are hard to find, but if i do find one this won't be an issue). I have heard the 318's have more potential to be upgraded than the 360's, but no proof. I'm also not sure about fuel/air, do i do a regular dual/quad carb setup, or a tripple deuce sixpack, maybe even a MPFI conversion kit? I've also seen serpentine belt kits for the old LA's. How's about heads and cams, and bore and stroker kits?

This is all in the alpha planning stage right now, I'm just looking for input. I don't have a budget or accual HP/Torque goal. That will have to come once I find an engine. It'll be a fews years in the making.

Thanks in advance, C/P
