Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 87 Raider will not crank - HELP!

Hey guys, new member, I have a doozie for ya. I picked up an 87 Dodge Raider last week dirt cheap cause the guy didnt wanna dump any money into it to find out why it wont start. Heres what I know... Daughter drove it uptown, came home, parked it. She left for 2 weeks, came back to use the truck, and it will not start. When the key is turned to START, theres no click, no noise of any kind. None of the accessories work, no blinkers, radio, wipers, windshield washer, blower motor. Headlights, hazards and dome light all WORK. Battery is new, terminals are clean, ground is good. From other forums, I have been told the ignition switch could be bad, replaced tonight, no change. Upon tearing apart the steering column, I noticed that the ignition control module? located right behind the wheel on the column and has the blinker lever and windshield wiper lever on it looks like it may have come from a yard. Theres yellow paint marker on it "Montero" "88" and "8177". Could this have gone bad and be causing my problems? I can pick one up on ebay for $75. I have swung and missed once, I would rather not miss again... :-) Thanks in advance! If you need more details, please ask!

ALWAYS start with the basics before condeming any part. check for power/grounds. check fuses, check for power at fuse block, check for power to the ign switch, check for voltage drop from neg post to block. if you see any voltage here, you have a bad/open ground.
