Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 8" Lift Kit HELP!

Hello!

I have a Ramcharger 1985, with a 318 4*4.
I am thinking of putting skyjackers 8" lift system on it. I live in Sweden and around here we cant get a lot of help of what fits and what needs to be done to make it work!

So, I am planning on installing 3" body lift kit, and 8" Skyjackers system.
What else do i need to do? Extend driveshafts? brake lines? Do I need anything else than just the 3" kit and 8" system.
The parts i have looked at is:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SJA-D800BKS/
and:

Will i have to replace the shocks?

I would be very greatful if anyone of you guys have done this installation, and would tell me what i need to buy, and what i need to modify and fix on my truck!

Thans in advance..

i have basically the same thing on my 75...8in easy ride, w/ 2in body lift,

you will need to extend the rear driveshaft,

the front will also need to be longer but the stock cv joint on it will not go to that far of angle, so its needs to be modified or replaced with a high angle joint,

you will also need to correct the drag link angle, this can be done 2 ways, a drop pitman arm, or a raised (cant remember the name) but the arm bolted to the knuckel w/ 3bolts that connects to the drag link, ( thats what i have) works perfect but a PITA to install sometimes.

definately need longer shocks,

longer rubber brake lines ( only 2 of them) 1 front and 1 rear axle, in the center.

for the body lift you will need

to extend the steering shaft, i just cut mine, added a heavy wall piece of pipe and welded back together.

also need to watch things like fan to shroud clearence, auto trans cooler lines, fuel filler tubes, park brake cables, and any other things that are connected between the body and chassis

thats all i can remember for now
