Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default Ramcharger Tranny Leak

K, I just put a new front pump seal, between the torque converter and tranny, it was ripped, but after assembling again, its still leaky, then I found out I should've thrown new bearings in the converter, is this right, maybe fix my problem, I'm just a novice, and should've done more research, I appreciate any advice, whether good or bad, to the fullest.

well, i dont think you will find out too much about replacing bearings in the converter... but there is a bushing behind the seal (i think),did you lube the seal before installing? could have been a bad install on the seal also, and are you positive the converter was splined correctly with all of the shafts? if not that can cause major problems, and could possibly be the converter itself leaking, though unlikely.

thanks dt75, right, i think i meant to say bushings, and i'm pretty sure the converter went in the right way, and i did use installation lube on the seal, but it was hard to fit, and i'm almost thinkin that the new seal ripped when i put the converter in, because i did it horizontally, and it was sort of a low quality part, i have since ordered a higher quality but i haven't had the time to take it back apart yet because of the below freezing weather we've had the past couple days in wonderful WI
