Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 1981 Ramcharger towing capacity???

Can anyone here tell me the towing capacity of a 1981 Ramcharger with a 727 and 318 4x4? Looking to buy one locally, but need to know if it can tow my trailer. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I believe the gvwr is 6150 or so for those.
No sticker on the driver door or owners manual?

My '77 RCharger 4X4 360 / 4 spd class 3 hitch towed a 2000 pound boat & trailer like nothing was back there. I also flat towed cars short distances with it on occasion. That's not saying I'd recommend doing that with these vehicles.

Try some online searches.

Maybe some useful info here.......

I towed a 81 Dodge 3/4t 4x4 on a tandem axle trailer five hours down the highway. I towed a 14' camper on holidays. I towed many many other things with my 1979 Ramcharger 4x4 with a 360/727/208/8 lug 44/Dana 60 welded/36" TSL Swampers/8" lift.
Don't be worried about towing.
