Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 9.25 rear axle

I need a new rear axle, mine is completely shot including the housing. its a 91 4x4 and i am having a hell of a time finding a used one for it. every salvage yard just says no, we dont have any 4x4's ..... is there any difference between a 4x4 and a 2x4 rear axle ? doesnt seem like there would be....

As long as it has 3.55 gears, it should fit. Fairly common ratio.

where a bouts are you located? someone from here that's close by to you may have one laying around.... the "royal se" has nothing to do with getting the right one.
2wd wont work as it goes above the springs, 4wd mounts under the springs. spring perch on bottom of housing tubes on 2wd and on top of housing on 4wd. would be OK if you had the means to weld new spring perches on and get them level, so that driveshaft/Ujoint angle was right. one from a W100/150 pickup or Ramcharger from 1981 up would work as long as ratio was right.

Take a look on craigs list, People always have parts trucks or parts there. If you see someone selling a bunch of RC/truck parts and not what you are looking for contact them and ask. They may have the whole vehicle but didn't list it.

Get one from a newer truck and upgrade to disc brakes. If it is the same width it should work. I used the trac lock unit from an 05 ram 1500 in my 76.

I have the same rear spring spacing on my dodge trucks and axles 75-2002 inclusive.

Van is different.

Edit: newer trucks (94+) the axles get about 5" wider.
