Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Unhappy Problem with ignition switch

odd situation, out driving my 1985 dodge ramcharger, two issues occured after returning home
1. ignition switch will not catch, turn vehicle off and attempt to start it up again, ignition key switch is very loose, it appears something is not connected
2. windshield wipers are not wiping, you can move the blades with your hand, as if something has come lose, motor still works, when i turn on the wipers.

can someone give me an idea as to the ignition switch and is i complicated to take lose to check it out..

thanks...

Probably need a steering wheel puller for the ignition switch.... should be able to rent one from your local parts store though.

For the wipers, the linkage probably fell off the motor. There are plastic bushings that keep things in place, and the plastic gets brittle with age, and basically just disintegrates..... Finding new ones is likely going to be fun.....
