Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default NEW GUY question on my 61 D-300 Power Wrecker??

I got a 1961 dodge D-300 Power Wrecker.

it has a 360 2bbl,4spd.
but i'm not sure what gear's it has i was thinking they were 4.88 gear's like every other 60's 1 ton but this rig has 6.50-16's for tires and at 50mph it didn't seem to be revuing hard so i Kept it at 55mph.
truck stock had 8-17.5's as the 17.5's are still on the front axel but the rear wheel's have the 6.50-16's. witch i find odd that this engine wouldn't be screaming at 55mph if it still had the 4.88's.8-17.5's 30" tall and
6.50-16's are 28" tall. i wish i had a tach in this truck...
Cause i have a 62 GMC C-30 with 4.88 gear's and with it's 8-17.5's it would rev 3100rpm at 55mph, It now has 8-19.5's and it dose 67mph@3,100rpm. 8-19.5's=33"tall.

i'm trying to get new 6 lug daully rim's for it and run some 7.50-16's on it.
But i wanted to know if them new izuzu cab over's 6 lug dually wheel's will bolt on as mopar and mitso/izzy are so close on the newer stuff???

some times big dodge trucks have engines that that might be different than cars. a 360 is not stock for that truck, i think you might have a 361, which is a engine chrysler did use in that time frame. trucks CAN have things like, heads that that are different than cars, valves, springs, intake. you would be well to find big truck guys.
