1988 Ramcharger 318 TBI question...
I've had my Ramcharger for almost 5 years now and it has become my full time trail rig (it get's trailered everywhere). The last few times out it would miss when under a load but would idle perfect and run fine if you gave it gas really slowly. Sometimes it runs fine even under a full load. I've replaced the fuel pump, screen and filter, fuel lines, fuel injectors, coolant temp sensor, throttle position sensor, plugs, wires, EGR valve, etc. etc. I don't know what to think. Most of the time it runs fine when it's cold and starts acting up when it's warm. Also, if it's having a "good" day and it's running great, if you shut if off and start it again it starts acting up again. If you continue to leave it run when it's having a "good" day it will run fine until you shut it off (most of the time). Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
the dist. has what they call hall effect u have the braker inside the dist. could ur dist been moved , or a wire be shorting some where ?or your cap be cracked, or the bug be bad? the t b i dist. uses the small inside bug . thats all i can think of qp
Hmmm. I've never replaced the Hall Effect sensor yet. I already replaced the cap and rotor and adjusted the timing so they should be OK. I'll check that Hall Effect sensor out! Thanks!!
