Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default nice new '86 w/ problems

i just got a nice 1986 rmchrgr 2wd 360, 106K mi, bebuilt carb, new fuelines/ mostly new engine wear parts, the orig. A/c still blows cold! but the hood latch is shot. at about 65-70 mph it will unlatch! (luckily the catch grabs it before it flys off) how should i fix this though? the latch works fine when i look at it, maybe it's some kind of sping tension thing? could i trust another latch from a junkyard?

My old plymouth had the same problem.. I went out and got some hoodpins...

It fixed it and it kinda makes the car look just alittle better.

Did you spray the heck out of the latch with something like WD-40? If it's cable operated, make sure the cable is not sticking. As I recall, the only adjustment for the hood latch is the part attached to the hood? Possibly the rubber bumpers on either side of the radiator/grille support are not adjusted properly?
