Can you name that part please-?
Hello-
Been reading some posts here- and wondering if somebody could assist please.
My caliper bolts apparently became loose -never even heard of such a thing happening until yesterday! Anyways- that part that the caliper bolts in to is now broke and needs to be replaced.
Could somebody inform me what the name of this part is please.
Thank-you

It's called the thingy-miggiger!.....LOL
Anyway, the main block everything bolts into is called the "Steering Knuckle".
A Spindel is on a front 2wd, but people still call them the knuckle as well.
Anyway, you could HELICoil your old one to fix the threads.

Helicoil to fix the threads..........
Not sure what Helicoil is- however I don;t think helicoil will work- the top portion of the thread section has been completely split and is now laying on my workbench.
Will helicoil still fix it if it is in two pieces?
Thank you

The good news is that I also called around to price knuckles, and the salvage yards in my area (Des Moines, IA at the time) were letting them go for about 80 bucks. Much better than the $700 you're getting from the dealer!
Call around. This is a very common problem on Durangos, you'll probably have to try a few yards before you find one that has a knuckle on hand....
