Default Do you have a cowl hood? I could use your help!

As the title says, I'm looking for anyone with an LMC or Reflexxion style 2" rise cowl hood as pictured. I have a donor hood and are going to make a cowl one.

If you have one could you take some measurements for me? I would like to know the width of the scoop from front to back and the height from front to back. Thanks!

Whats the attraction with a cowl hood? I believe you can get the raised cowl part in fiberglass and just put it on. If you are going to build something make it more interesting, Like this...

This is a fiberglass hood but the scoops are from the 70's cuda style hoods.

I haven't found a functional ram air style hood or scoop I like. I like that style cowl but the only steel ones come in 2". I want a larger cowl and anything larger comes in fiberglass. I don't want to spend a ton on a fiberglass hood and I know they are a PITA to fit. I also want to keep it all steel. Plus none of them (except one fiberglass hood) have the two factory body lines down the center of the hood which I like. I've thought about doing the shaker, but that takes up a lot of room on top of the engine. I got the spare hood for free from a friend and it's now the winter project since the truck is in storage.

I'm considering a pair of the Cherokee lovers to help get some heat from under the hood.

If you are any good with fab work that would be fairly easy to build.

Building vs buying- maybe he has more time than money. Or it's the satisfaction.

But, if it was me, if I built it, I would add a personal touch or flair that tells people " I made this." Not just make it like any other cowl hood.

Well I'm a mechanic and welder fabricator so it'll be no issue making. Money isn't the issue, the issue is there's better things to spend it on than a hood haha. I have nights and weekends to mess with it and since I got it for free, I feel no shame in cutting it up. Not one shop has touched or worked on my truck, everything has been done by me, so yes the satisfaction is great. As for the personal touch I've been throwing around some ideas but we'll see how they play out as I work on it. Might have to start a build thread hmmmm.

Only money you need to spend is on two small pieces of sheet metal.

I put a pair of these on my jeep (in black, my jeep was black too). Unique look and functional too.

Sorry for the thread hijack...
