Driver side, got out shut the door and the window fell right down into the door, stopped just enough for me to a hold of the top and pull it back up, currently being held up by duct tape.
I'm gonna assume that the regulator snapped when I shut the door.
Safe assumption? Won't be able to open it up for another couple days.
Power windows or manual crank? If manual, it is likely that your glass fell out of the channel that is glued to the bottom of it.
When manual window regulators fail (which is rare) they usually strip the teeth off the gear mechanism.
Power window regulators are driven by cables and are more likely to break. The cables wear out and snap, then you have to replace the whole assembly:
The power windows can also slip out of their mounting brackets at the bottom of the glass..
You won't know what's going on until you remove the door panel and see.

The quad cab has cables, the 2 door versions use a traditional style regulator.
There's a pin on the end that goes into a grommet on the track. When mine failed I replaced it with a bushing from Home Depot - a kitchen cabinet roller.
In 12 years of working in auto glass I don't think I ever replaced one like this but you are correct. Club and single cab power window regulators are like this one:
I replaced a ton of Durango regulators, they use the cable version on all four doors.
One other possibility (best case scenario) At the bottom of the channel that is attached to the glass there are two 10mm bolts that attach it to the regulator. Those bolts could have come loose and allowed the channel to separate from the regulator. This is an easy fix, just pop the bolts back through the channel and tighten them down.

One other note, I was out when this happened. So I pulled the window up enough to where I could keep a hold of it while I drove home (not far away), so it didn't slip fully down into the door. When I got home I pulled it all the way, which it did with no resistance on it. It stayed up for a minute and while I went into the garage to get duct tape, it slowly creeped back down.
When I came back out, I tried to get it all the way up, but it would stop and jam up about half way. I tried using the switch and all it would do was make a crunching noise. I pulled up on the window with a bit more force and something snapped inside and freed the window up....then there was no more resistance.
I'm worried I snapped one or both the plastic tabs on the bottom channel that hold the window to the regulator, but guess I won't know until I open the door, which won't be until tomorrow morning.
In any case, I guess that would just mean a trip to the junk yard for a new piece of glass as well.
This truck is starting in on the $50o'ing me to death. Just before this my pass side exhaust manifold started leaking full time. Had been doing it a bit on cold start up, but stopped when it heated up and expanded. Now it does it full time, all the time.
Can the glass tip forward or is it still horizontally stable? If it is still stable, then it sounds like the cable broke, but I wouldn't order anything until you open it up and confirm it. If it can tip forward then it has likely broken or come apart at the attachment at the bottom of the glass.
No it's stable, doesn't tip one way or the other. Thanks for the links. I wasn't sure if I had to order it with the motor or not. My motor works, you can hear it, it just spins for a few seconds and then you hear crunching and it stops, but then it will do the same in the other direction, so the motor should still be good.
