2015 Durango fuel door not opening
I am not able to open my fuel door. When I push the button inside, I hear the clicking, but the door will not open. I have 50k+ miles, but I have an extended warranty ($100 deductible). However, I want to make sure my dealership (Keffer Dodge, Charlotte) knows it should be covered by warranty and that this is a known issue. I need to get this fixed tomorrow at the latest (I need gas). Thank You.

Is your extended warranty bumper to bumper or just power train? Power train only will not cover the cost of repair if needed. Refer to your warranty paperwork to see if it's covered or not. Have you tried pushing the button and having someone manually try to open the door? Perhaps hit the door with your hand while someone pushes the button? Pour hot water on it (may be frozen shut).

Have you tried opening with the fuel filler door release cable?
Emergency Fuel Filler Door Release
If you are unable to open the fuel filler door, use the fuel
filler door emergency release.
1. Open the liftgate.
2. Push down on the inboard edge of the left storage bin,
this will pop up the outboard edge.
3. Grab popped up outboard edge with other hand to
disengage snaps.
4. Remove the storage bin.
5. Pull the release cable.
There may be interference at the latch system that the door spring cannot overcome. Pulling on the release cable will also allow you to simultaneously pry the door open with your hand or tool that will not damage paint.
