i got a 96 ram 1500. i just purchased the 2"/4" lowering kit from ground force. i installed the front end no problem, but now i am working on the rear and am having trouble getting the front leaf spring hanger off. in the instructions it says to grind off the 4 rivets holding the bracket on and remove the bracket. well i have grinded off the rivets, but that bracket is not wanting to come off. i have tried pounding out the rivets with a punch. i have tried prying the bracket off with a pry bar and a mallet. just about everything i can think of to get this thing off and i am having no luck. so i was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with lowering a 96 ram or if you have any ideas how to get this bracket off.

 

I had the same problem with my 98 when i put my bags on. I had to take a torch and actually get the rivets to go almost completly threw the braket, then used air chisels and anything i could fined to pry it off
