Lift Kit
O.K. I have caruzed all around and found some good lift kits that have been mentioned. I like the Pro Comp the best so far, but I have some questions and I am definately open for some pointers.
The misses will be back around mid-March, so it's time to do some upgrades that she has put off. She has always wanted a 3" lift so that is what she is getting. I am looking at 33's but a set of 35's would be nice, providing I can meet the backspacing requirement. The Pro Comp has the "Bracket/Bridge" that drops the whole front end down, but I did not see this on the Fabtech. Should I run steering stabilizers? I did not see this on either kit. Do I need to get a longer drive shaft if I do a 3" on the rear? I was considering doing a 3 1/2" on the rear because the weight of her truck cap. This thing is a monster, it is re-enforced fiberglass and weighs around 400lbs.
Here is the backround on the truck. She ordered a 1997 Ram 4x4 (standard cab/long bed) when she was in Japan and picked it up stateside. She had a custom matched heavy duty fiberglass cap added as well and it stopped there with the addition of numero uno child.
I am working out the issues with the suspension lift, but will be adding a chrome or polished pumpkin cover, tinted front windows a new set of nerf bars and an American flag graphic that she picked out for her cap. The biggest addition will be the lift. I am also looking at a tire that does not have a real aggressive tread, but everytime I do a search that is all that pops up. I looked at tire rack and was going to go up a size from what she has on (295's) but the guy told me to get a set of 305's because they are the same size as the 33's. Has anybody heard that a set of 305's are the same size as a set of 33's?

going with pro comp would be a great idea. If you're planning on going big and doing some rough country. The reason I say this is....thats alot of work to install that kit, and its alot of money to be prancing around town.
I would recomend the trailmaster kit. It's not as complex but is the most trusted name in lifts. go figure its cheaper too. ::shrugs::
As far as tires go i believe the 33's are the same as 305's
Your truck is already equiped with a steering stabilizer...however throwing a pro comp stabilizer and either rs9000 ranchos for shocks or the pro comps for shocks is a good idea...especially if you're going with 35's. Which would be cool....because you can fit 33's under it stock with minor fender trim.
