I just replaced the ball joints in my 04 2500 4x4. First I noticed the sterring wasnt returning corrrectly and that it "floats" alot. I took it back now 3 times and it still does it. I suppose to take it back again tomorrow. The service mgr said he will do it and replace all the ball joints again and align it himself. Has anyone else had this problem? Please help
The first time I took i back one of the grease fittings was gone. So I dont know how long It was out. I took it back the first time a day and a half later.

 

The most probable cause is a bad steering rack. The valves inside the rack could be stuck, broken or blocked. You could also have a bad strut(s) or ball joints that are binding the steering linkage. Another possibility is bad or broken motor mounts.
