Default front suspension(d150)

Hey PPL I have just restarted my 79 d150 Big Block project and i need some help. Somewhere i read that you could use 87-96 dakota 2" drop spindles in conjuction with 1ton lower control arms to get 4 inches of drop. I have the disc rear end for a Imperial (this is my six inches in the back and some stopping power). I need to know if this works. Don't need to go out and spend the money on the spindles(have the 1ton control arms) when i could put it to use on the tranny(viper 6spd). Does anyone make big brakes for a dakota of that age? Thanks in advance for any help!
Later Gordo
