Default 2006 lifting with stock rims

hi everyone this is my first post and i am looking for some help with my new ram i have lifted man chevys and fords in the past but i got some questions on my ram.

its a 2006 2wd ram with the new style stock 20inch rims and i been looking of lifting it 6inch with a fabtech kit and i want to keep my factory rims my concern is no one has any info on if the 20 inch rims will work wit hthe suspension or not the tires i plan on running are either 33 toyo mts or 35inch toyos if i can get the 6 inch lift to work with the stock rims then 35 if not then i will jsut level it wit hthe 33s.

another question i think i got the new cylinder cut off engine and i am wondering about a flowmaster or gibson exhaust i heard it will sound crap if i do it cause of the cylinder cut off.
any info much appriciated
thanks in advance

I just lifted my 2006 1500 4X4 and the stock 20" rims had to be replaced.

I also installed the flowmaster dual exhaust and I think it sounds great.

i think its going to work your is lifted way high with 37 that wont beable to run the stock 20s just because the tire size and width i did some research during the weekend and talked to a guy with the 6 inch rough country lift on an 05 1500 4x4 and his stockers fit but they were close and if they dont fit then i can put some spacers. thanks for the reply. but i think i can get 35s with the 6inch fabtech on it and run the stock rims and if they dont fit i think i can get some wheel spacers for 160. thanks again

Sean,
I see the pic that you have posted, its a nice looking truck. Im getting to the point where I want to lift my 06 4x4 as well. What brand did you go with, also what tire/wheel size did you end up running. Ive always had fords and am new to the ram thing. Do you have any more pics of your truck lifted? Thx for any help you can lend.

Mine is the 1500 with the new IFS with the sway bar. I went with Fabtech 6" suspension lift, it cost a little more but with the new suspension I did not want to run into problems later. I also put a 3 " body lift on it which should allow me to run 38" tires OK but to be safe I went with the nitto mud grappler 37" tires which in reality are only 36" tall. The rims are moto metal 20X10. I also would recommend the superchips programmer, very easy to use and you can readjust your speedometer without having to take it into the dealer.

Thx man I appreciate the info. My local shop was 2500 for the lift installed. They say I can run the stock 20's if I do that, but Id definately want to run something different... like a 35x13.5x18 or so. I go in the sand alot and can use the wider footprint. Thanks again for all your help. Time to start saving some more ha ha.
