305-50-20 Yokohama Geonlander's??
I am taking my truck back to the tire shop next week. This will be the 3rd time, and it seems like one of the tires will not balance. Both times they were road forced balanced. Just wondering what I can do if I keep having balancing problems with the one tire? The 3 others are fine and when I brought it back the second time the tire shop said that only the 1 tire needed to be fixed, atleast thats what the Road Force Balancing machine showed.

It could be that the tire is out of round. Ask what the force variation reading is on the roadforce machine and if it is high enough, you may be able to get it switched out from Yokohama. It is tricky to keep those big tires in balance though.
Ok, I will do that. I believe the last time they did the road force balance on that tire they were able to get it down to 33, if that makes since? It is in the shop today and I will find out what the variation is. Also having the front end aligned so maybe the combination might fix the problem. So I'll see what happens today when I get the truck back.
Thanks Ben

If they really balanced it down to 33lbs of force variation, that is way high. There is something wrong with that tire or wheel if that is the case. Post with the spec they give you before balancing if you can, and make sure they check the wheel for imbalance or radial runout.
Ben,
I had the same size tire on my spare and had them switch that tire with the one I was having problems with. It seemed to fix the problem some. Now what I notice is that over the last couple of mornings, its been around 40 - 45 degrees, and when I get the truck up to about 45 mph the truck bounces. I know these are softer tires and will tend to flat spot over night, but it seems more noticeable now with the other tire. I am hoping I dont have 2 bad tires. As far as the spec before balancing they didnt tell me, but they did check the wheel for imbalance and radial runout. The wheel was fine. just getting the road force variation down they couldnt get it further down than the 33lbs. These tires are really starting to drive me crazy. Seems I cant get just 1 tire to balance correctly. Any suggestions. Its getting costly to take it to the shop every couple of weeks to get these tires checked.
Thanks
Joe

33lbs of force variation after balancing is more than there should be, and probably indicates that the tire is out of round, or the balance is not being done correctly. 20-25 lbs is about the most that you should see. You should have the one with 33lbs roadforce inspected at an authorized Yokohama dealer. If it really has that much roadforce variation that should be a warrantable defect.
I can take it to an authorized dealer, but I am sure that will cost more money again for them to check the tire. Is this not covered under the TireRack warranty? I know there are some things not covered, but not sure about a tire defect? Thanks for your help, I am just trying to get this fixed as it is beginning to cost more trying to get this tire to balance then it would to just buy a new tire, but then I risk getting another problem tire. The other tires were road force balanced and were at about 22-24 lbs of variation. The mechanic did state that the 33lbs was high, but to see if it was any better since the others were able to be balanced close the the specs. The spare they put on they said they were able to get it down to specs, and it does feel better than the old one, but I would like to get the "bad" tire replaced if possible. Only thing I hate is when they are cold, they tend to flat spot over night and in the cooler mornings at around 45mph they bounce a little until warmed up. Overall I like the tires and the way they look on the truck, just getting them to balance seems to be a problem.
Thanks
