Default My new tires

I replaced my dry rot 3 year old with only 40000 km's a few weeks ago with some FALKEN ZIEX S/TZ 1 same size as OEM. What a nice quiet and smooth and responsive tire. We had a foot of snow I was worried cuz they don't really say they are a winter tire, just an all season. But it was great.......AWD helps LOL but really they were better than the stock Oneyear's . I noticed on new cars you are seeing different tires now instead of just the same brands. Thank god maybe a first set of tire will last someone the mileage they say. Dry rot......and you tell Goodyear they say call the dealer, dealer says call Goodyear. I say screw both buy new tires and never bother with Goodyear

As posted in the Goodyear thread, it depends on the sizes you pick. TireRack doesn't seem to carry Falkens, so I can't look it up there. But a quick Google search of "falken ziex country of origin" comes up with Japan, China, Thailand to start. I'm sure there's more. I wouldn't base your tire purchase on country of origin. Korean and Vietnamese and Thai and Chinese tires can be made fine under manufacturer's regulations and formulas. Maxxis tires are made in Mexico, and they're as tough as many other tires. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a set if they were cheaper than Michelin LTX which is my preferred truck tire brand/model.

I base all my purchases on what country they are made in, because I for one would like to see USA get out of this recession, and by buying USA made, that is one more job for one more fellow american that I am supporting. Why buy from a country that just copies everything that America has ever invented, and copy poorly and cheaply at that. Send your money to Asia if you want, but it will never come back. You will be a slave yourself one day at the rate we are going....
