I have a '97 Ram 4wd I'm looking to upgrade with the newer style Dodge 20" wheels/tires.


My understanding is that they will fit, ...but I want to confirm a few things:
1.) The front center caps might be an issue with 2wd, ...but 4wd hub should clear fine?

2.)Is the inner center hub diameter on the 20" wheel the same as that on the '97's 16" wheel? (The 20" wheel may 'fit', ...but is the hub larger on the 20" wheel? ...where the rim is actually 'centered' to the hub via the lug bolts, ...and not the hub center itself?

3.) Are there any tire rubbing issues, ...on the inner wheelwells? ...and/or at maximum turning limits?


My truck was ordered with the tow package, ...off-hand I don't know the rear axle gear ratio, ...so I am wondering from anyone who has made this wheel/tire change, ...what was your experience? ...Does the truck seem ...'sluggish' due to the larger wheel/tire combo? (ie. the %4.2 increase, ...below)
I would especially like to hear from someone who has actually done this..., ..and your overall opinion...

This is more of a general question... but, does anyone know what the NET diameter difference between the factory '97 wheel/tire and the newer 20"?
For example, ... 265/75R16 vs. 275/60R20.
