Tire manufacturer says tires are good 7.5-9" rim, Dealer said OK on 7?
I think I picked out the tires I'm going to get- 285 75 16 with 11.5" tread width Yokohama Geolander A/T-S . I was going to put them on stock rims. Based on the research I've done, my stock rims appear to be 7"? (standard factory chrome 16s) but the Yokohama website says that they fit 7.5-9" wheels.
The other tire I was considering was the Toyo Open Country, same size- It has the same specs though, 7.5-9" wheel, but I was told thats fine too (from a different dealer?)
Think thats OK?

both will work...the only thing you will see is that the tire bulges out a little more than the stock one i wouldnt be worried about it if it were my truck..
ive seen guys put some crazy wide tires compared to what your talking.
the thing the tire manufacture is concernd with is how long the tire will last and such...may void your warranty on the tire
